Front plate CAM and machining.

Get ready:
Simple enough, now I've manually prepared the stock.This is a circular pattern of M5 tapped holes and two rows of M5 clearance holes, with counterbore to accommodate a cap head screw. Should be simple enough:


Tools set up, ready to go:


Stock set up and probed:


Go!


Circular path, to cut out the middle rather than turn the hole centre into swarf.


Chamfer the hole:


7mm holes for M8 tap.


Spot drill the hole centres to avoid wandering


Then drill tapping and clearance holes.


Done. Now for some tapping....



Finished - fits nicely.



Done - apart from the tapped holes in the end face that hold it to the baseplate. Nice result.
