Chassis plate and end plate machining - compts in, ready to wire up

Loads of clinch nuts. That way I can still replace stuff once the chassis plate is fitted and wired in.





A variety of holes for cable glands etc. Using a slot drill to open up rectangular holes.



D connectors for the encoders

In it goes.....



This is the interface circuit that sits inside the encoder plug. Seems to be a differential line driver / receiver SN65C1168 from TI.



Laid it out on the bench. All I have to do now is "just" wire it all up.....



Need some of those male / female standoffs for the D connectors, to screw the locking screws into. Found these in the kit that came with the Linux PC. Presumably they are for RS232 etc.



Butchered the original encoder plug to make it a surface mounting version:
